Dry-Type Transformers, available in Cast Resin & VPI configurations up to 2500 kVA, 33 kV, provide a safe, environmentally friendly, and low-maintenance alternative to conventional oil-filled transformers.
When the Installation Does Not Allow for Oil.
Oil-filled transformers require fire suppression systems, containment bunds, and maintained separation distances from occupied spaces. In hospitals, high-rise buildings, airports, data centres, metro rail installations, and underground facilities, this is either impractical, non-compliant with building regulations, or simply unacceptable from a safety perspective.
KLR Dry-Type Transformers eliminate the oil. The insulation system uses cast epoxy resin (cast-resin type) or class F/H air-cooled windings (open-wound type), both of which are non-flammable, moisture-resistant, and self-extinguishing. The result is a transformer that can be installed inside the building it serves, in a basement plantroom, or in a restricted-access shaft, with minimal maintenance requirements and no oil-related servicing throughout its operating life.
